This self-contained studio apartment is within the main house of Tiagua 81. Lovingly restored, the contemporary and spacious interior offers an ideal self-catering accommodation.

The studio apartment is on the ground floor of the main Tiagua81 building, and is accessed from the interior glass covered courtyard. The apartment consists of a cosy living room/dining table and kitchen area (with two electric hobs, kettle, toaster, sink, microwave and fridge, no oven). The adjoining bedroom is in fitted with twin beds which can also be put together to make a 180cm super king size double. It’s en-suite shower room is fitted with built-in hard wood wardrobe, and skylight. The apartment is ideal to sleep up to two adults and has been tastefully styled, the use of natural wood and light has created a cosy living space.

Tiagua 81 was originally, a large Canarian family house with a wine Bodega in the garden. The main house has been transformed into 4 contemporary apartments (Bermejo, Mozaga, Reymar and El Grifo), with an additional 2 bedroom Rubicon cottage also within the property grounds. Lanzarote is ideal for cyclist, and Tiagua 81 is located at the LZ20 an ideal location for cyclist to begin their training tour. For guests who are bringing their sports equipment, or wish to hire during their stay, the main house offers a bike/surf board storage kit room.

Guests will have access to the shared solar heated swimming pool, a further spacious sun bathing area with free WIFI internet access. Antique features of the house include the original wine-press in the garden, original wood doors & windows have now been transformed into quirky coffee tables. There is a set of converted Aljibe arches above the reading room. The central Canarian courtyard itself is an ideal space to read and relax (available to all guests at Tiagua 81). Each of the apartments are accessible via the courtyard, plus access to the basement Aljibe reading room, and the sport storage.

Tiagua village is a traditional farming village and offers two restaurants, the nearest being just a short walk offering local food. The village is set right in the centre of the island and is an ideal location for exploring the island. Within just a 10 minute drive you are able to access; Playa De Famara a golden 5 km stretch of beach,  the La Santa coast which is one of the best surf spots in the world, Timanfaya Volcanic National Park, plus villages such as Teguise (the historic original capital of Lanzarote).

The price per night is based on up to 2 guests or 1 adult and 1 child over 10 years old,  sharing Reymar Apartment. Pricing includes the local tax – IGIC at 7%. Please note: There is a surcharge of €30 for booking less than 7 nights.

Due to the proximity of Reymar to the road, for noise level sensitive guests, please choose another apartment at Tiagua 81.

 

Location

Tiagua

Tiagua village is a traditional farming village and offers two restaurants and a local supermarket. The population of around 300 are very friendly and the pace of life gives a feeling that time has stood still!.

Within just a 10 minute drive you are able to access Famara Beach, a golden 5 km long beach, also La Santa coast, famous for offering the best surfing in Europe. Also within 10 minutes is the Timanfaya Volcanic National Park, and villages such as Teguise the original capital of Lanzarote.

On the road leading to Caleta de Famara, is an old mill. From this road one has an unforgettable view over Famara.

The Farm Museum “Museo Agricola El Patio” is a popular attraction in Tiagua. It is considered the most complete ethnographic museum of the Canary Islands. The farm dates from 1790 and inside you can see an old mill, winery, collections of tools, photographs that recall the farming traditions of Lanzarote, etc. Here you can also taste a good wine and enjoy a cheese of the island .

Being in the heart of Lanzarote, Tiagua village offers extensive opportunity to explore the island from North to south. There are many popular cycle routes, and Tiagua is a superb area for visitors who enjoy walking and trekking holidays. Local points of interest within 5km radius include:

How do I pay for my Holiday?

You pay a 30% deposit followed by the 70% balance which is due one month prior to arrival. You can pay by Credit / Debit Card, or Bank Transfer.

Are there Mosquitos?

Lanzarote does have some mosquitos, but due to the island being dry, not too many! To prevent them coming into your holiday home keep doors and windows closed from dusk.

I can see there is a car included, do I have to share this car with anyone else?

No, the car is exclusive for your use whilst you are staying in that particular accommodation.

Is the swimming pool heated?

Yes all our pools are heated either by solar or electric, please check for details on the villas features tab for full details.

What is the weather like?

The weather in Lanzarote is good all year round due to the proximity to the equator. See our Weather Page  for full details.

My accommodation does not come with a car, where can I hire one from?

We recommend Plus Car, they are a local Lanzarote company and have excellent cars, they don’t add on any hidden charges and they also meet you at the airport saving you a timely wait-in-line on your arrival to the airport.

Restaurants and shops, do they close in winter?

No, all restaurants and shops trade 52 weeks of the year. It is holiday season all year round in Lanzarote!

What is the best time of year to visit Lanzarote?

Lanzarote is open all year round, it has a steady moderate temperature so is lovely to visit any time of year. It warmest months are July/August, where its trade winds offer a welcome cooling breeze.

Which airport should I arrive to?

Arrecife (airport code ACE) is the only airport on the island of Lanzarote.

Can I bring my dog/cat?

Sorry no, our accommodations are not suitable for guests to bring their pets.

Can I get married on Lanzarote?

We can put you in touch with companies who can help you organise this and point out our best accommodations for your party size.

Does it rain on Lanzarote?

There is average of 14 days rain a year.

When is the best time of year for Surfing?

Surfing is good in Lanzarote all year round. Its known as the Hawaii of Europe due to its great conditions. The biggest waves for advanced surfers are from October to February. See this LINK for more surfing info.

I want to Windsurf, where should I stay and what time of year is best?

Costa Teguise offers the best windsurf conditions, see our two villas Beach House and Ocean View Penthouse  which are close to the beach and windsurf centres. There is wind all year round but the most consistent is when Lanzarote has Trade-Winds from May to September. See this link for information on Windsurfing.

Can I stay less than 7 nights?

Yes, just book the number of nights that suits you.

I want to stay a full week but your availability only shows a few nights, can you help?

Yes, we can help you put together a twin stay holiday. Where you transfer from one holiday home to another during your stay. Just enquire with your ideal dates and we will send you over options.

What to pack between October and March?

Jumper/Fleece – a jumper for evenings as Lanzarote offers lovely outdoor living and it can be cooler outside at night.

Light waterproof jacket  –  incase it showers (which is not very often but can catch you out)

Wetsuits – if you are planning getting in the water!

What to pack for Families?

Baby monitor if you are planning to spend evenings out on the terrace.

Calpol, teething gel etc….

Nappies/Swim nappies – you can buy these here but they are very expensive

Milk Powder – again very expensive and they may not have your usual brand

If your chosen holiday home does include a hybrid car then yes we do  provide the appropriate car seats for your child’s age in accordance with the local law.

You can arrive to your holiday home from 16.00 onwards and your check out on departure day is at 10am

Is a hybrid car included?

The following villas do include exclusive use of a Hybrid car; Casa Volcan, Pebbles & Driftwood.
