Pen-pals Finca de Arrieta – Switzerland!

 In Blog

Andrea, a teacher from Switzerland who stayed at Finca de Arrieta, asked Peta, our Reservations Manager, if she could write a pen-pal letter with the children in her class. Of course Peta couldn’t resist it and she said yes!

Here is the conversation they had last week. Cute!

Dear Peta

We live in Switzerland in Winterthur. Winterthur is a town with 100 000 inhabitants. Here we go to primary school. The school’s name is Langwiesen. We are 10 or 11 years old and in 4th grade. We like Winterthur because it’s never boring.

There are cinemas, swimming pools, an ice rank, playgrounds, museums, churches, libraries, restaurants and shops. In winter it’s very cold. Then you can drive a sledge, build a snowman or igloo and make a snowball fight. In summer it’s hot and you can go to the pool, make a walk, play football or do a water balloon battle.

What about your home?

We are looking forward to reading from you

Dear Class 4E

Hello from Lanzarote!

It is very nice to hear about your town in Switzerland, it sounds like there is a lot to do there!

Lanzarote is a part of the Canary islands we are very close to the coast of Africa so our weather is very warm all year around.

Our population is 139,000.

Finca de Arrieta is situated in the north of Lanzarote.  There is a beach opposite called Playa de Garita, which is very good for building sandcastles on, swimming, surfing and snorkelling.

At Finca de Arrieta we have some donkeys, chickens and ducks.   The holiday guests can collect their eggs for their breakfast and feed the donkeys a carrot.

We hope you can visit our lovely island one day and enjoy a holiday here.

I would very much like to visit Switzerland one day too!

Finca de Arrieta is a perfect place if you are looking for a stress-free family holiday near the beach. We have a swimming pool, play park, trampoline, animals, pirate boat, sand pit and giant garden chess board. But, we like to keep parents happy too so we have created a beautifully luxurious environment where parents can relax whilst the kids are having fun. Our pool/communal area is adorned with beautiful day beds and we have yoga classes on site.

We know that it’s difficult to find the balance between making sure that the children have fun and meet new friends and that you have a peaceful relaxed time. Our communal areas and chill out lounge provide a wonderful place for the kids to play as well as a place for the parents to enjoy some adult conversation. However, each yurt, cottage and villa has its own private outdoor space with dining table and sun loungers where the children can play and parents can relax. This gives parents a wonderful freedom to enjoy the day even when the little ones are asleep.

Also, if you feel like some down time we can arrange for a member of our family to come to your accommodation and babysit.
