Costa Teguise
Costa Teguise is a coastal town in the Municipality of Teguise on the island of Lanzarote, close to the capital Arrecife and only 10 to 15 minutes by car from the airport.
Costa Teguise is one of the most attractive tourist areas on Lanzarote thanks to its array of accommodation, beaches and services. This is definitely one of the preferred destinations for families visiting the island.
The town has four main beaches, all of which are natural: Playa de los Charcos, Playa de las Cucharas, Playa del Jablillo and Playa Bastián.
Our properties The Beach House and Ocean View Penthouse are located in Playa Las Cucharas, which is one of the best family beaches on the island and has a promenade with a great choice of restaurants and hangouts. There is also great sports facilities at the beach where you can windsurf, boogie board, sea kayak and rent equipment and book lessons in all. There are also sun loungers and shades for rent on the golden sand beach. This is a much loved beach and is great for kids in that it is well serviced, from lifeguards to toilet & shower facilities, everything is here to ensure a great beach experience.
Children will also have a great day out in Costa Teguise Aquapark, which comes with lots of slides as well as a lake for swimming. Meanwhile, grown-ups get an 18-hole golf course at the side of an old volcano. Lessons are available too, and there’s a driving range and a pitch and putt green.
There are plenty of supermarkets within the resort. These stores generally stock a good range of international produce. If you would like to go to a bigger supermarket, there is one located on the outskirts of Costa Teguise in the direction of Arrecife and this is the best outlet if you are looking to buy fresh meat and fish.
While in Costa Teguise, we would recommend you visiting Pueblo Marinero (fishing village) which is a cluster of typical Canary buildings as conceived by the artist, César Manrique. Restaurants, pubs and shops, as well as a market held every Friday from 19:00 hours, can be found there.
Costa Teguise, during the winter months, can be a bit cooler and windier than the main resorts in the south. Residents and frequent visitors of Costa Teguise have nicknamed the town “Breezy Teguise”. During the summer months this breeze can be very pleasant and it is important to note that there are also plenty of very still and calm days all year round.
