Introducing our reservations team

When booking a holiday with Lanzarote Retreats, the friendly local team is on hand right from the moment you first get in contact.  We spoke to our reservations superstars Toby and Nico to find out a little bit about each of them along with their top recommendations of where to go and what to do on the island…

Meet Toby

How long have you worked at Lanzarote Retreats?

Since November 2020

Where are you based?

In the office in Costa Teguise.

If you had to have a favourite LR property, which would it be and why?

It has to be the Eco-Luxury Farmhouse. I just love the original look and feel of the property, the volcanic stone walls, the large open spaces. And of course, the private garden with a plunge pool and the ping pong table!

What’s your favourite thing to do in Lanzarote?

Rock climbing has to be at the top of my list. Also stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking.

Where do you most like to spend time on the island?

I regularly go to a scenic spot near Puerto Calero where we go climbing. It’s a great little crag right next to the ocean so you can have a swim when taking a break.

Where’s your favourite place to eat?

The Sushi bar Minato in Calero. I highly recommend it.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Hmmmmm…Rock climbing.

In your opinion, when’s the best time of year on the island?

I think September as the drop in temperature is a nice change following the heat of August.

Where’s the best sunset spot?

Hands down, Femes! There is a restaurant at the top of the hill. It’s called Restaurante Balcon de Femes.  They have a lovely balcony that is perfect for watching the sunset.

Favourite beach?

Papagayo.

Best walk?

The Haría Loop.

Best coffee stop?

Bonbon Cafe, Costa Teguise.

Best lunch spot?

El Sibarita in Famara.

Best view?

Top of Famara cliffs.

Hidden gem?

El Golfo.

I have been working for Lanzarote Retreats for 6 months now.

Where are you based?

I live in Tías.

If you had to have a favourite LR property, which would it be and why?

Eco Beach Yurt, I stayed there before I began working for Lanzarote Retreats and I fell in love with it! It is super spacious and cooking meals in an exterior kitchen was great. It also has an extremely comfortable bed!

What’s your favourite thing to do in Lanzarote?

I enjoy surfing and rock climbing.

Where do you most like to spend time on the island?

Famara has always been my go-to.

Where’s your favourite place to eat?

Arepera Millo y Millo in Tías, Asia Delicious in Puerto del Carmen and Mumbai Masala in Puerto Calero.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I’m an aspiring photographer so I spend much if not all my spare time taking pictures and making videos.

In your opinion, when’s the best time of year on the island?

Summer, I love spending time on the beach, and it is too hot not to!

Where’s the best sunset spot?

Famara, sunsets during low tides are incredible since the beach acts as a mirror.

Favourite beach?

Playa Chica for snorkelling and Famara for surfing.

Best walk?

The “Ruta del Litoral” from El Golfo to Mancha Blanca. It borders the Timanfaya National Park along the coast. It is not for the faint-hearted!

Best coffee stop?

San Antonio in Tías.

Best lunch spot?

El Rincon de la Abuela in Famara.

Best view?

Anywhere at the top of the cliff in Famara.
