Our Eco Yurts provide all the comforts and amenities for the ultimate ‘glamping’ under the stars experience. This authentic 5-meter Mongolian yurt is the perfect choice for a couple or family looking for a unique stay in a luxurious yet understated casita. It is perfectly equipped for a romantic couples break with its super king-size double bed. It is also a great choice for a small family of up to 2 children, as the accommodation is child-friendly and can accommodate additional sleeping arrangements such as a z-bed and travel cot.
What’s included in the Eco Palm Yurt?
The designer “Manrique” floor and the traditional two-skin covering keep the yurt draft-free and ensure a constant ambient temperature. A central skylight allows ventilation as well as romantic star-gazing. The yurt has electric plugs fitted, fast wifi and solar lighting.
Outside, this yurt has its own fenced and gated garden at the eco-retreat, Finca De Arrieta, where you can enjoy the rural location with mountain and sea views. The spacious garden features a bamboo dining hut, shaded daybed, hammock, fully equipped kitchen and access to your private walk-in shower, w.c and washbasin. The yurt has easy access to a shared area by the pool, BBQ and chill-out lounge.
Need an extra bedroom? Finca de Arrieta has a 3-metre mobile Extra Yurt bedroom which can be added close to this accommodation within the communal grounds but outside of the Palm yurt area.

Location
Arrieta
The village of Arrieta has 400 inhabitants and is set in the northern municipality of Haria, the most traditional area of Lanzarote and ideal for the more independent traveller. This northern part of Lanzarote does not offer purpose-built resorts such as Costa Teguise, Puerto Del Carmen or Playa Blanca. Arrieta is a small traditional Canarian fishing village which has learnt to adapt to meet the demands of some low-key tourism. Among other things, the village offers wonderful sea front fish restaurants, a very good pizzeria take away and a supermarket. As with other villages in the north, Arrieta is peaceful, tranquil and is ideal if you are looking to be away from the neon lit bars and nightclubs found within the tourist resorts of Lanzarote.
Arrieta History
Arrieta is one of the prettiest and most authentic fishing villages to still exist in Lanzarote today. It remains unspoilt and there is a rustic charm to many of its historic houses and coastal alleyways. Eco Fishermans Cottage, set on the sea front village slipway was originally owned by local fishermen who lived there over 200 years. Each morning, you can still see local fishermen unload their catch and an early get up is rewarded by the most spectacular sun rise.
Arrieta Beach
Arrieta boasts a beautiful beach called “Playa de La Garita” which has fine golden sand and is 810m long. This beach has a restaurant and beach bar and also WC/showers, parking and play park. The waters generally remain calm throughout the year. There is also a smaller man-made golden beach which is just in front of the Eco Fisherman’s cottage. This is ideal for swimming or snorkelling.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans notre yourte. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la cuisine extérieure. Ce logement atypique nous permet de vivre dehors (lit et cuisine en plein air) ce qui est très agréable en vacances. Nous avons également été très bien accueillis, et trouvé nos hôtes arrangeants (dépôts de bagages quelques heures avant l'heure possible d'entrée dans les lieux, et bien d'autres choses qui ont facilité notre voyage.) Nous entendions parfois la route la nuit, mais cela ne nous empêchera de renouveler cette expérience qui reste très positive.

What a special spot. We had a quiet week in early March and spent nearly all our time just at the eco village and on the very nearby beach (where there is a great cafe). We loved how attached our son got to the animals at the eco village who provided endless entertainment and interest for him. Especially when he got to collect an egg from the chickens! The yurts are great, luxurious and comfortable but you still get the feeling of outdoor living. Kitchens and bathrooms very modern and clean. We loved the honesty drinks fridges and honesty shop, just perfect. Thank you.

A totally different experience, the pity that we were only there for two days but we will certainly repeat, even having regular weather with intermittent rain and clouds is a place to enjoy, relax and escape, with a perfect location, close to beach, bars and the town and with an environment that besides being nice is also cozy and tasteful, with everything you may need without leaving the area. My family and I have just returned from a fab, relaxing week in Eco Palm Yurt. We loved it and didn't want to leave!
The sea view from the kitchen area (see photo) and the yurt is beautiful. The yurt was fantastic- spacious and very well equipped. Despite being worried that we would be cold at night as its winter this was not the case. It was lovely and cosy in the yurt at night.
The Finca have thought of everything. There were bodyboards, buckets and spades, pushchairs available to borrow free of charge when going to the beach.
My children are aged 8 and 10 and they loved the pool and all the pool toys that were next to the pool. My husband and I loved lounging on the daybed watching them 😂😂 they also loved the trampoline and the play park.
Highly recommend the paella night - amazing paella and lovely to chat with other guests.

Lanzarote retreats is a very uncommon little village, with such many great eco ideas.Compared to Italian campings ( I think it's the most similar structure we can compare) it's extremely quiet and there is no animation at all (which of course can be a strength point or not, it depends on what you are looking for). I was a little confused on the day of our arrival because reception was closed but nobody told me that..even if we had several e-mails from the staff in previous days. Anyway we enjoyed very much our stay.

I've just returned with my family from Finca de Arrieta, part of Lanzarote retreats. It was our fifth trip to the yurts, which is testament to how much we all love it. My boys are now in their teens and were toddlers when we first holiday-ed here. Beautiful, serene eco environment. Comfortable yurts, with outdoor kitchen and lounging areas and a private deck and garden in each. You can while away the hours in a hammock, or use the pretty communal pool, play outdoor chess, feed the donkey. An honesty shop and chickens who lay your breakfast eggs every day! There is something for everybody and for all ages. With the surf beach and a great restaurant a 5 minute walk away, the retreat really hits the sweet spot! There's also phenomenal landscape to explore and all the Cesar Manrique art and architecture around the island. And wonderful, long sunny days. Already talking to the family about when we should go back!

Great set up, the yurt has plenty of it's own outside space, plus the shared facilities. and it's right next to the beach. Only down side is the pool's a bit chilly in February - the sea was warmer!

Had the most wonderful experience staying in the Eco Palm Yurt. Everything about the stay is spectacular, everything is very well organised by the attentive staff who are willing to organise and suggest the best suitable tours for us. We were very well taken care of during the whole trip, they made everything such as travelling to and from the airport as well as booking of tours very easy for us. Also, the people we met during our stay were really nice and friendly. I am definitely going back to the Finca.

We stayed in Eco Palm Yurt and it was perfect. Really private and tastefully done. This is not a place for those that want manufactured fun and that is its gift. It gives space just to be a family or with us a couple. You really do need a car though and Debbie was fantastic at giving ideas about where to explore. She also showed us round the rest of the dwellings on site and every one of them was beautiful. This is a place to slow down, read books, play cards, enjoy the lovely Lanzarote wine and relax. We can't wait to get back.

FAQ's
How do I pay for my Holiday?
You pay a 30% deposit followed by the 70% balance which is due one month prior to arrival. You can pay by Credit / Debit Card, or Bank Transfer.
Is the swimming pool heated?
Yes, the pool is heated in two ways, by solar water system mats and solar cover. This means that on sunny days our solar system raises the water temperature in the pool by about 3 degrees. In the summer months, you can expect temperature is between 22 and 26 degrees. In winter, it spans between 19 to 24 degrees.
Is there a toaster, iron or hairdryer ?
No, due to our eco credentials of being off grid, these items have heating elements and drain our battery power quickly.
linen, tea towels and towels, are these provided?
Yes your holiday home will have bed linen, tea towels and house towels provided, beach towels can be rented.
What baby equipment is provided?
Travel cot, high chair, changing mat, potty, toddler step and baby bath.
Are there Mosquitos?
Lanzarote does have some mosquitos, but due to the island being dry, not too many! To prevent them coming into your holiday home keep doors and windows closed from dusk.
Is there free wifi?
Yes there is free wifi at Finca De Arrieta, you are abel to access this by our office and communal lounge. Our yurts and houses are wifi free zones!
Is Finca De Arrieta a hotel?
Finca De Arrieta offer private self catering accommodation and is not a hotel. We do have an office open 7 days a week to help you with any questions or advise you need during your stay.
What is the weather like?
The weather in Lanzarote is good all year round due to the proximity to the equator. See our Weather Page for full details.
My accommodation does not come with a car, where can I hire one from?
We recommend Plus Car, they are a local Lanzarote company and have excellent cars, they don’t add on any hidden charges and they also meet you at the airport saving you a timely wait-in-line on your arrival to the airport.
Is breakfast included?
No, Finca De Arrieta offers self catering. You can add a breakfast Hamper delivery to your holiday home. Contact holiday@lanzaroteretreats.com for full details.
Restaurants and shops, do they close in winter?
No, all restaurants and shops trade 52 weeks of the year. It is holiday season all year round in Lanzarote!
Do I need a car?
We always recommend a car when staying at Finca De Arrieta and many of our properties have a car included in the price. If you are happy to just relax and take a stroll to the beach/village and are not looking to explore the island further then a car is not essential.
What are the Honesty Shop opening times?
The honesty shop is open 24/7 as it is not staffed!
What is the best time of year to visit Lanzarote?
Lanzarote is open all year round, it has a steady moderate temperature so is lovely to visit any time of year. It warmest months are July/August, where its trade winds offer a welcome cooling breeze.
Is Finca De Arrieta near a tourist resort?
Finca De Arrieta is set in a beach/rural setting, it is a 15 minute drive to the nearest tourist resort.
How far is the airport?
The airport is a 30 minute drive to Finca De Arrieta.
Which airport should I arrive to?
Arrecife (airport code ACE) is the only airport on the island of Lanzarote.
I don’t want to cook! Can meals be provided?

Can I bring my dog/cat?

Why is Finca De Arrieta Eco?
Finca de Arrieta is totally “off grid” and makes its own electric by solar panels and windmills. It also has a number of solar water heaters, uses its own “well” water, and reuses grey water on its gardens. Its fleet of courtesy cars are all hybrid and gardens have been stocked with indigenous plants.
Are there plug sockets in the yurts?
Yes, there are normal european plug sockets in all the yurts.
Do all the yurts and houses have a private WC / shower room ?
Yes every accommodation has a private WC/shower room.
Are there animals?
Yes, cats, chickens, ducks and a donkey.
Does electric cut out? What happens if there is no sun and wind?
The energy taken from the solar panels and wind turbines is stored in a set of batteries, these batteries hold a reserve of energy. If these batteries run low, the generator (run on bio diesel) will recharge the batteries up quickly. The power supply is not interrupted so the property is never without its electric supply.
Is there a TV?
No, there are no TV’s at Finca De Arrieta, we encourage families to enjoy quality time together.
What is there for Children to do at Finca De Arrieta?
Collecting eggs for breakfast and feeding chickens, playing in the park, jumping on the sunken trampoline, swimming, playing with toys from the toy box, choosing a book from the library to read, joining in with the yoga class, meeting new holiday friends!
Does it rain on Lanzarote?
There is average of 14 days rain a year.
When is the best time of year for Surfing?
Surfing is good in Lanzarote all year round. Its known as the Hawaii of Europe due to its great conditions. The biggest waves for advanced surfers are from October to February. See this LINK for more surfing info.
I want to Windsurf, where should I stay and what time of year is best?
Costa Teguise offers the best windsurf conditions, see our two villas Beach House and Ocean View Penthouse which are close to the beach and windsurf centres. There is wind all year round but the most consistent is when Lanzarote has Trade-Winds from May to September. See this link for information on Windsurfing.
Can I stay less than 7 nights?
Yes, just book the number of nights that suits you.

What to pack between October and March?
Jumper/Fleece – a jumper for evenings as Lanzarote offers lovely outdoor living and it can be cooler outside at night.
Light waterproof jacket – incase it showers (which is not very often but can catch you out)

What to pack for Families?
Baby monitor if you are planning to spend evenings out on the terrace.
Calpol, teething gel etc….
Nappies/Swim nappies – you can buy these here but they are very expensive
Milk Powder – again very expensive and they may not have your usual brand
Is there anything we have to go without on our holiday?
As these energy systems are modern and up to date, you can use any electrical appliance, just as you would from electricity supplied by the “Grid”. In order to conserve energy, we do not fit our properties with high-energy consumption goods such as dishwasher, T.V, electric kettle, electric water heaters, high watt light bulbs, irons etc.
What is Glamping?

Where is best to stay when travelling solo with children?
Finca De Arrieta is a perfect location for solo parents, the eco child friendly retreat is made up of a community of 15 different holiday accommodations. The communal areas and chill out lounge provide a wonderful place for the kids to play as well as a place for the parents to enjoy some adult conversation.

Are the yurts cold in winter months?
The yurts are snug and draft free they stay a constant temperature so are not cold, we provide blankets in case these are need in addition to duvets.
Is there a washing machine or microwave?
We offer a laundry service, situated next to the honesty shop. Microwaves are available free on request if really needed as they are an energy drain!
Where is the nearest supermarket/restaurants? Are they walking distance?
The nearest restaurant is Casa de La Playa, situated on the beach so a 300mt walk. (Please bring a torch if walking as there is no street lighting) The nearest supermarket and further restaurants are in the village of Arrieta approximately 1km walk.
What is check in/check out time? Is there somewhere to leave my luggage?
Check in time is 16.00 and check out time is 10am. We can store luggage for you at Finca De Arrieta.
I am arriving late will there be somewhere to buy basic provisions/food?
Yes, you can use the honesty shop or why not order a Meal to be waiting for your arrival.
Is there a reception? Are there staff on site?
We have a staffed office at Finca De Arrieta open Monday to friday 9am to 15.00 and Sat/Sunday 9am to 13.00. We also have full time maintenance staff available if needed.
Will there be other children on site?
Yes there will be other guests staying with children. If its in school holidays then it is a full age range, in term dates is’t more infants and toddlers.
