Our environmentally friendly luxury villa, which can sleep six guests, has been lovingly restored and refurbished to a very high standard. Using local materials wherever possible, this traditional aljibe, or water deposit, has been converted into unique holiday accommodation with wooden floors and traditional stone walls, while design influences from Morocco and Indonesia have created a sumptuous and exotic ambience.
The villa comprises 200m2 of interior floor space on one level and features a partly open-plan layout with spacious rooms that stay cool in the summer and cosy during winter. The large lounge and dining area, with its double patio doors, has hardwood floors, seating for six, a Moroccan coffee table and decorative internal window, as well as an Indonesian daybed, which can sleep extra guests.
There is a bespoke hardwood and granite fitted kitchen, including breakfast bar with views to the terrace and well-maintained gardens beyond. The kitchen has an oven/grill, four-ring hob, fridge/freezer, toaster and plenty of cupboard space, making it ideal for discerning self-caterers.
The large hallway leads to the master bedroom, with its fantastic mountain views, featuring antique furniture such as the king-size four-poster bed (180cm), a large built-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with bath, walk-in shower and W.C. The second bedroom has a wooden floor, hand-painted Chinese furniture and two single beds. A further shower room also features a walk-in shower, wash basin and W.C. Both washrooms are fitted with Italian glass and steel sinks and Moroccan mirrors.
Outside, set in mature gardens, the villa has a private terrace and mature garden with sun loungers, BBQ and a thatched ‘breeze house’ dining area for six with sea views. A shaded day bed overlooks the terrace, ideal to relax and keep cool in the shade. There is also a further, shared, shower room and toilet, covered kitchen and lounge area nearby.

The village of Arrieta has 400 inhabitants and is set in the northern municipality of Haria, the most traditional area of Lanzarote and ideal for the more independent traveller. This northern part of Lanzarote does not offer purpose-built resorts such as Costa Teguise, Puerto Del Carmen or Playa Blanca. Arrieta is a small traditional Canarian fishing village which has learnt to adapt to meet the demands of some low-key tourism. Among other things, the village offers wonderful sea front fish restaurants, a very good pizzeria take away and a supermarket. As with other villages in the north, Arrieta is peaceful, tranquil and is ideal if you are looking to be away from the neon lit bars and nightclubs found within the tourist resorts of Lanzarote.
Arrieta is one of the prettiest and most authentic fishing villages to still exist in Lanzarote today. It remains unspoiled and there is a rustic charm to many of its historic houses and coastal alleyways.
Arrieta boasts a beautiful beach called “Playa de La Garita” which has fine golden sand and is 810m long. This beach has a restaurant and beach bar and also WC/showers, parking and play park. The waters generally remain calm throughout the year. This beach is ideal for first-time surfing, body boarding, sunbathing, swimming, wave jumping, sand castle making, sunrise spotting, fishing and dining at the beach bar or restaurant.
We stayed in the Eco Villa for a few nights recently and it has to be said, its a very special house indeed. The building is solid and cosy with exceptionally good taste in decor and furnishings. At night we lit 20+ candles (provided by them) and the place looked stunning.... it was impossible not to feel relaxed! The staff on site are warm, helpful and enthusiastic. Our car (included in the house rental price) was clean and in perfect condition. The 'Honesty shop' is a really nice touch too, well stocked and great to have close by. Everything about this place ticks the boxes and we'll come back for sure.... Thank you for a superb break....
We returned from the Eco Villa at Finca Arrieta oon the12th February 2010. It was the most relaxing week we've had in ages ! Our children (aged10,6 and 2) all enjoyed the chickens, donkey, trampoline not to mention the pool area. I would not hesitate to recommend this holiday destination to friends and family. We hope to come back very soon ! Thanks
Hi, thank-you for a wonderful holiday. Our family stayed in the Eco Luxury Villa which was huge and very luxurious with more than enough room for 2 children. Thank-you for all the helpful extras like bed gaurds, cots, changing mats, toys nappies etc etc, it made life much easier! Our toddler had the time of her life making new friends, bouncing on the trampoline and digging on the beach. We relaxed and enjoyed a beautiful part of Lanzarote and a very chilled out atmosphere at the Finca. Michelle, Tila and their lovely children are wonderful hosts and Manuel an excellent Salsa teacher! Thanks again Zib, Dan, Lucy and Sam
We had an absolute ball, despite our daughter being sick for a few days and we were delighted with the place and everything you did for us. You really made us feel at home and were extremely helpful and accommodating, from Tila picking us up in town the first night, ferrying us around, looking up doctors numbers and all your organisation for my 40th party. Thank you so much for a wonderful celebration, it was one of the best holidays weve had and all our friends who travelled with us were raving about the place. The children loved the pool, lego and above all the chickens, rabbits, Max and the trampoline. Happy kids make happy parents! Your friendliness and attentive service really make the place stand out. Thanks a mill - we hope to come back soon.
a truly memorable trip for all of us - our 3 children LOVED it (all boys aged 4,3 and 9 months) - really felt at home - loads of outside space to run around in and perfectly placed in Lanzarote to do stress free day trips
Michelle, Tila and all their kids were so welcoming and helpful
I can't wait to recommend this place to friends and really hope that we return next year (would definately try the yurts out next time)
Many thanks for a great holiday, the villa was wonderful, plenty of room for us all. All the extras with toys, travel cots etc make it great and very easy with children. Hope to be back before the year is out!
Thank you once again, Caroline & Hannah
Thank you all for a truly relaxing and fun family break. It has been our most successful family holiday to date and we hope and plan to return in 2011 with a new baby in tow. Our boys, aged 2 & 3, relished their freedom and roamed around the site visiting the animals and their new found friends. It was our first visit to the island and we were really taken with the North, there are lots of beautiful beaches and villages to visit and our favourite restaurants were right on the doorstep in Arrieta. I'd really like to keep this hidden jem to ourselves but if you must visit I hope you find it as wonderful as we did.
Our mid March holiday with the kids (aged 1 and 4) was simply fabulous on so many levels. First the villa - spacious, comfortable, cool in the heat, lovely furnishings, genuinely baby friendly and the best showers ever. Then the retreat - again, lovely space and friendly neighbours, kind hosts and amazing service (e.g. new darker curtains for the kids\' room, only a day after I mentioned it....), plentiful things for the kids to do (chickens were a favourite of course but it\'s a huge and safe space overall) and a really delicious Monday night supper - including a treat of paella to take away for the next day which just showed how generous and flexible you were! We loved the island - we drove almost all over it, but that doesn\'t take long and it\'s easy and fun, with contrasting views left and right and super beaches and cafes. All in all, this is a rare and special place - easy with kids, warm in winter, impressive to offer luxury only using wind and solar power and I could go on .... thank you all for a very memorable holiday and hope very much to come again.
We have just returned from a lovely relaxing break with Lanzarote Retreats. Our stay in the Eco Villa was very relaxing. There was plenty of space for a family of four. My son loved the morning donkey rides on Mollie and my daughter was happiest on the trampoline. Everyone who works at the retreat was open, friendly and a pleasure to meet. This is a highly recommended holiday destination and is located well to visit the many attractions Lanzarote has to offer
We really had a lovely time in the villa. There was so much space! We loved Finca Arrieta. It was perfect for a relaxing holiday with a small baby. He was mesmerised by the hens and ducks. Plus the swing was perfect for him. There is also lots to do nearby. Can't recommend this place enough for those with small children.
