Travelling Solo with Kids?

Travelling solo with children can be a daunting task for some. At Lanzarote Retreats we think that we have the perfect holiday destination for single parents at Finca de Arrieta for so many reasons;.

We have thought of everything to keep the kids happy. We have a swimming pool, play park, trampoline, animals, pirate boat, sand pit and giant garden chess board. But, we like to keep parents happy too so we have created a beautifully luxurious environment where parents can relax whilst the kids are having fun. Our pool/communal area is adorned with beautiful day beds and we have yoga classes on site.

Recently we have noticed more and more lone parents staying with us and each one has commented how safe and secure they feel in our friendly, family orientated environment. You will find us in a quiet, rural location away from the main tourist resorts, but we have a great team of staff on site every day who are here, not just to ensure everything goes according to plan but also, to act as local guides, hosts and most of all friends to guests, ensuring the most perfect holiday experience especially when travelling alone.

Juggling luggage and children onto a plane is hard enough but trying to navigate your way out at the other end is even more stressful which is why we like to offer guests a stress free VIP pick up. You will be personally met at the airport by one of our drivers who will help you transport your children and luggage safely to your accommodation. You can even enjoy a free glass of sparkling wine after your journey to dissolve away the stress of getting here. We also pick up your luggage from your accommodation on the day of your return and help you get it onto a trolley at the other end. No taxi queues, no negotiations with car hire companies and no getting lost on the way here!!

We know that it’s difficult to find the balance between making sure that the children have fun and meet new friends and that you have a peaceful relaxed time. Our communal areas and chill out lounge provide a wonderful place for the kids to play as well as a place for the parents to enjoy some adult conversation. However, each yurt, cottage and villa has its own private outdoor space with dining table and sun loungers where the children can play and parents can relax. This gives parents a wonderful freedom to enjoy the day even when the little ones are asleep.

If you do feel like venturing out then Lanzarote is the perfect place to dine with your children. The restaurants here are very relaxed and easy going and tend to welcome families with children. The Spanish dine with their children always and you will not be frowned upon or made to feel awkward if your little one does not behave in a perfect manner whilst you are at dinner.

If the thought of dining out with your children doesn’t appeal you then we have a fabulous dine in service whereby you can order delicious homemade, seasonal meals to your accommodation. Oh and every property has its own BBQ which makes eating-in easy and fun especially when you have a BBQ pack delivered from Market Diner.

If you feel like some down time we can arrange for a member of our family to come to your accommodation and babysit.
