Throughout the year, the island celebrates a number of different fiestas, musical and colourful celebrations enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.
Some of the main festivities include:
January 6th – Dia de Los Reyes – Christmas Day for Canarian children
February / March – Carnival – bright and colourful parades taking place across the island
May 30th – Dia de Canarias – celebrate all things Canarian, children in national costume
June 23rd – San Juan – Bonfire Night in Lanzarote
Mid June – Corpus Christi – marvel at the amazing salt pictures created across the streets
End August – San Gines – huge fun fair in Arrecife and a huge firework display
September – Los Dolores – Mancha Blanca pilgrimage taken by hundreds of local people
