Ash Cloud Cover
As you know the ash cloud from the Icelandic Volcano did effect some flights in and out of Lanzarote during April and May 2010. Some flights were cancelled and over a few days it caused chaos throughout Europe affecting many travellers. We endeavoured to help stranded guests on Lanzarote feel as comfortable as possible and made sure no one was made homeless! We provided internet and lap tops to ensure guests were able to reschedule their travel plans and keep in touch with their families and work colleagues back at home.
Obviously this unpredictable time has made some future travellers nervous to book a holiday abroad. In response we have an option to reassure our guests they will not lose their well earned holiday in case of travel plans being disrupted, as to our knowledge there are no insurance companies willing to insure the accommodation cost if you are unable to reach your destination.
On any future bookings Lanzarote Retreats are offering the option to pay an additional 10% one off fee*, which would allow your accommodation reservation to be moved to a future date in the event your flight is cancelled because of the Icelandic Volcanic Ash Cloud and you are “unable to arrive”.
This means that if you unable to travel on your original dates booked you are able to move your accommodation reservation to a future date (subject to availability)

*The one off fee must be paid for within 14 days of paying your deposit.
If you have booked an original low season price and wish to upgrade to a High season price the price difference will apply.
No cash refund is offered.
You cannot pass the accommodation on to a different person.
This offer exclusively applies to the Icelandic Volcano near Eyjafjallajoekull glacier (120km east of the capital, Reykjavik) and the nearby Katla volcano.
