Lanzarote Retreats News November 2009

Well things continue to be busy here on Lanzarote and I guess the low budget airlines such as Ryan Air, Easy Jet and Jet 2 are helping keep the independent traveler travelling!!

I have just booked a last minute return flight from Lanzarote to Stansted for 49 Euros. This is defiantly the cheapest I have ever know and Ryan Air have 20 routes to Lanzarote so you can easily see how this helps boost the island and promotes and expand tourists looking to book things a bit more interesting than a standard package holiday, rather than the package tour.

If you or know of anyone looking for a last minute getaway I have just added a page showing what is available for the last minute traveler.

Last Minute Availability See dates and offers.........

I would like to take this opportunity to say a BIG Thank You to all our previous guest who have added wonderful and informative comments and photos to the Sunday Times on line article, Trip Adviser and our own sites Guest book. It really is inspiring for us as we strive to make our guests visit a unique, fun and new experience!! Also thank you to Stefan, Petra and Leon from Germany who stayed at the Eco Villa last month and mailed me the lovely above photo.

So .. News from the retreat of “Finca De Arrieta”;

  1. Tila has decided that having 30 Hens just isn’t enough, so he heard from a friend of a friend that a farmer needed to sell his 130 Hens. So not only did he invest in these, the farmer then insisted that he needed to take his 50 bunny rabbits as part of the deal! I have managed to donate some to Freddie/Monique’s school and some friends.
  2. So due to a huge quantity of hens we are building a lovely new pen for the hens they must be the luckiest hens on the island having come from little metal cages to this new deluxe retreat accommodation!
  3. We will be celebrating or Xmas meal at the retreat on the 24th December and most of our guest have booked up so I am really looking forward to Christmas eve. So for our Yurt guests Santa will have to come through the opening in the yurt roof!
  4. Also we have planted some new fruit trees such as Lemon, Papaya and Fig so I am looking forward to more of our own produce.
