Lanzarote Retreats June Newsletter

Summer 2010,

Summer has well and truly arrived in Lanzarote, not that we’ve have much winter to contend with! May and June are wonderful months to visit the island with great sunshine and the beaches are lovely and quiet. See our Last minute offers if you are looking to get away.

Our schools break up here at the end June so you tend to find more local families on the beaches and kids surfing once the holidays have started. The sea has warmed up and you have the chance to visit whilst there are no queue’s the beautiful and cultural tourist sites such as; Timanfaya Fire Mountains (the volcanic range in the south of the island) and the Caves, Cuevas de los verdes and Jameos del Agua in the north of the island.

Cueva de los Verdes

The Green caves are holding a concert this Saturday evening which we are going to attend, concerts are being organised there on a regular basis. This week they have the internationally renowned trio Panoply who are Yao Yi on accordion, Ching Ching Lim on piano and Carl Herring on guitar.

Lanzarote Retreats Web Page

I have been working very hard to add new pages to the web site. These are designed to give you added information about Lanzarote and to help you to book your flights etc.. I have also added pages on water sports, an up to date weather page, if there are any pages which you think would be helpful let me know and I can get these added.

The Pound has New Strength,

Over the past few weeks the pound has strengthened against the Euro. This has made quite a difference to our accommodation prices. During April a holiday costing 700 Euros would have cost you 636 Pounds today it is 585 Pounds, so a huge saving for you. This sterling rate is now at the highest it has been against the single European currency for the past two years. As you can imagine this snowballs further to property buying here in Lanzarote. We have seen a large number of guest looking to invest in a holiday home whilst visiting us, and at the moment this exchange rate is a offering some great deals!

Alex Wade

We had the pleasure of Alex Wade and his family coming to stay at the resort of Finca De Arrieta in May, he is based in Cornwall and in very much involved in media related articles on the surf scene. Whilst staying in the Eco Luxury Villa he wrote a surf blog which makes great reading and gives you an insight of how to have a great surf trip as well as keeping the family happy! He is the author of 2 books Surf Nation and Wrecking machine and writes weekly column for The Times.
