New to the eco retreat Finca De Arrieta,
Honesty shop – Lanzarote retreats have now added an honesty shop in the room underneath the Eco Tower. The shop offers good such as, Milk, Pasta, Charcoal, Washing Powder and Local Products.
Exclusive to Lanzarote Retreat guests;
BBQ every Monday evening at Eco Finca De Arrieta. The shared kitchen/living area by the pool offers a great early evening venue for guests to get together. A local chef cooks on site a selection of meat, fish, Canarian potatoes etc.

The Saturday Times 22nd January 2011 featured Finca De Arrieta, Eco Fishermans Cottage and Ocean View Penthouse apartment as part of its Stylish side of Lanzarote feature. The article states "Lanzarote is no longer all Lanza-grotty. A chic side is emerging including eco-retreats, villas and cottages".
Lanzarote Retreats is thrilled to be a part of promoting the previously hidden, rural side of the island. Giving travellers a chance to experience Lanzarote in its unique beauty and not just in over populated resorts.
Lanzarote Retreats was mentioned in the popular womens magazine Red as part of "If you only do 1 thing this month...." Their suggestion was to get a new year tan whilst staying at one of the Lanzarote Retreat accommodations.
The trampoline at Finca de Arrieta has now been sunk into the ground!

A small group of students from the school of Tourism in Lanzarote under the University of Las Palmas Gran Canaria visited the Eco Retreat on January 14th as part of their alternative tourism module, the trip was a huge success!
New for this year the Eco Yurt Royale will come with a Eco Hybrid Toyota car, the 2010 Prius and a VIP private return airport transfers (including a bottle of sparkling wine on the arrival journey, so ensuring a nice and stress free arrival)
Officially it is the warmest winter in Lanzarote for 50 years. The average temperature in December 2010 was 20.7 degrees.

An unusual visitor is currently in residence at Finca de Arrieta. The children found the bright green tree frog taking shelter within the tropical leaves.

Volcanic Ash Cloud - Many of our guests were affected by the disruption caused by the closure of UK air space due to the Volcanic Ash Cloud from Iceland. Everyone managed to enjoy their extra days on holiday in the sunshine with most guests managing to get flights back within a reasonable time.
Our good friends Georgina, Norman and their children, Henry and Joseph decided to travel back via Madrid and then drove across Spain and France before heading back on the ferry to the UK. We were able to lend them a car to complete their journey, they had an amazing adventure!!

Levi Roots Relaxes at the Eco Luxury Villa
We were honoured that Levi Roots chose to stay at the Eco Luxury Villa for his week long holiday. He managed to relax and unwind at the Eco retreat and enjoy his favorite past times of Cooking and Singing. It was the first time he had visited the Canary Islands and from seeing his Guest Book comment, we think he will be back soon!
Levi Roots was in full swing at a private concert at Finca De Arrieta with the Lanzarote Band "Africa United"

26th July 2009 - Finca de Arrieta features in the Observer Newspaper
The Retreat "Finca de Arrieta" is featured as part of an article about Pedro Almodovas film "Broken Embraces" which is partly set in Lanzarote. The travel writer Annie Bennett chose one of the Yurts to stay in while she wrote her article & named Finca de Arrieta as a "fabulous place to stay" on the island and something that the famous architect Cesar Manrique would be proud of.

This is a fantastic example of what the island has to offer for the more intrepid traveler. Its fantastic for the press to show off the island in such a positive way, this is what the island truly deserves as it has such a lot to offer in the way of unique landscape, design and architectural splendor.

Eco Retreat Nominated for the BBC´s World Challenge
The Eco Retreat of "Finca De Arrieta" was nominated for the BBC World Challenge 2009. The Eco Project using natural resources for creating energy shows it as an example of tourism being environmentally sustainable and creating a new image for the Canary island of Lanzarote.

School Visit Eco Retreat Power System
50 local school children from the Costa Teguise School CEIP, visited the Eco Finca de Arrieta. The two classes were able to visit the Solar and Wind power installation which provides electric for the properties at Eco Finca de Arrieta.
The children were shown how the system converts the natural energy from the wind and sun into the electrical power used by the Finca de Arrieta eco properties.
News Round Year Book
Joshua Braddock (13 years) who lives at the Eco Retreats "Finca de Arrieta" is interviewed by phone regarding the concept of living with energy supplied by wind and solar.

The Beach House featured on TV
Lanzarote Retreats "The Beach House" was featured on the Irish TV Program "No Frontier". The luxury villa in Costa Teguise sleeps up to 6 guests and is in a fantastic location behind the main beach, which is perfect for sunbathing, children and Windsurfing.
The program was on RTE1 at 7.30pm on Sunday the 15th March 09.
