Walk from Arrieta to Haria
Lanzarote Retreat's favourite walk starts at the eco retreat Finca De Arrieta and takes you up to the village of Haria (approx 3.30 to 4 hours round trip).
If you take the road up towards Tabayesco and take the first right turning when you reach the village then continue it turns into a dirt track. This track takes you along the valley of Temisa where you can see a number of small holdings and spectacular views to the sea. If you bare right the track adopts a past donkey trail which meanders up hill right to the top of Haria. You need to cross the road and follow this route into the village of Haria. If you walk on a Saturday morning you will be able to wander through the artisan market offering local breads, arts/crafts and souvenirs). You can get a lovely lunch at the sociedad which is on the market square. Here you can experience Canarian tapas and lovely Lanzarote wines whilst dining in a quaint dining room.
From Haria you can either head back along the route you came or head out from Haria towards Arrieta. As you leave and pass the last houses you will see a cemetery on your right, take the road here and this leads on to a dirt track. Follow this track until you can see the retreat Finca De Arrieta, then drop down from the mountain back to the retreat.
